Who I am
I grew up between France, Germany and Switzerland, so I am a native speaker of French and German. I then went on to study in London and Edinburgh, thus making English my third linguistic home.
I have honed my craft in theatres having worked as a project manager for theatre and dance productions, as well as a surtitling agency for five years.
I started training teams back in 2010 and got the bug for analysing the systemic dynamics at play when several people get together with a purpose.
I studied interpreting because I wanted to learn a specific craft and discovered that I love enabling people to communicate and work towards reaching their goal. I’ve been sharing my passion as a lecturer in interpreting since 2017.
As you can tell, I thrive in various fields and in different roles, I love learning new skills and am always up for projects in unknown territories.

What clients and colleagues say about me
“Anna Johannsen has been integral to the success of many dialogues with high-ranking political actors in the education sector and of large-scale events with fellows from all around the world. Both her simultaneous and consecutive interpretation within formal and informal settings were of the highest standard and tailored to a specialised audience. Her flexibility, friendliness and professionalism are greatly appreciated!”
